The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the most important international event dedicated to the children’s publishing and multimedia industry. In Bologna authors, illustrators, literary agents, licensors and licensees, packagers, distributors, printers, booksellers, and librarians meet to sell and buycopyright, find the very best of children’spublishingandmultimediaproduction, generate and gather newcontactswhile strengthening professional relationships, discover newbusinessopportunities, discuss and debate the latest sector trends.
The exhibitors
About1,200exhibitors coming from75countries and25,000international professional trade representatives in 2013. In its 50th edition, the Fair offered more than20.000square meters (about 215.000 square feet) of exhibition space with a simple and easy-to-understand layout.
Special Initiatives
Each year the Bologna Children's Book Fair proposes to all exhibitors and visitors alike special initiatives that offer excellent opportunities to increase contacts and hone ones’ skills in various sectors of the children’s copyright market. In particular: Literary Agents Centre> place of honor for the exchange of copyrights Illustrators Exhibition> the largest and most prestigious international display of the most innovative trends in children’s illustration.
Falling back on the worldwide promotion
The Children’s Book Fair hosts, in Bologna, journalists selected from among the most important news outlets in the world. Each year, more than 600 journalists representing 70 countries from all over the world report on the event. Information regarding the Children’s Book Fair and its initiatives, pre-registration notwithstanding, are sent worldwide at the right moment to an extensive list of qualified exhibitors that are carefully selected and continually updated. Each year, the Fair plays host to a number of exhibitors coming from countries of major interest for the development of new markets.
A rich programme of events
A full programme of events is in store for attendees: meetings, debates and lectures, an awards ceremony, the inauguration of the illustrators’ exhibit, as well as interesting engagements in the Fair district and downtown are all on the agenda. These events will enliven the period of the convention with the rare opportunity to deepen your knowledge of all things related to children’s copyright content and enrich your personal and professional relationships.
